Sitting still
Holding space
My heart beats calm
and asks for grace.
A thought of Magic
to start my day,
Open hands
to bring my way.
A Hummingbird's wings
beat in my ear,
Look up and find
my Magic's here.
No need to move
From where I'm at,
the Magic's kept
right in this place ...
Where I'm sitting
keeping faith.

Summer Solstice
Today is the celebration of the Summer Solstice. I greeted the day in Sabino Canyon and did drumming with my Winter Solstice Faery Drum. As the two greeted eachother I could see both the Sun and the Moon present as well - full circles come together. I meditated on what I was supposed to be learning. A mantra kept repeating itself to me: "Find the Extraordinary in the daily ordinary events of life." The meditation kept repeating to find the hidden treasures sitting right at our feet.

12 Chakras
As a Reiki Master, I do energy work with clients to assist in creating a more harmonious and centered chakra system. Many of us know the 7 Chakras ... the Root, the Belly, the Solar Plexus, the Heart, the Throat, the Third Eye and the Crown. However, in conjunction with information received from universal sources, there is an awareness of 12 dimensions as well as a 12 dimensional solar spine ... which leads me to believe there are 12 Chakras as well. The first Chakra would be our grounding to Mother Earth where our feet start. The next 7 would be the above mentioned. The 9th Chakra would be the Chakra connected to our higher selves, and Chakras 10,11 and 12 would be those associated with the higher consciousness, angelic realm and the Mother-Father-God-Creator. This is why we are becoming so conscious of the importance of taking care of Mother Earth ... without her, we are ungrounded and lost. That is why She is the first Chakra. We, as humans, in order to heal ourselves (mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually) must be connected first to Earth, our home, where our foundation begins ... she is our primary caregiver and if we can give her care, then we can care for ourselves as well. Then this shift will create a vibrational change in all of the other Chakras.

The Prisons We Create
Many of my clients speak to me about themselves and their families and how angry they all are about how life has "turned out". People become trapped in the choices they have made and continue to live in these "prison of choices". The first step to realizing the "prison" really has no bars is that each of these choices that was made has another side to it ... there are many choices at any given moment. Although we cannot change the choices we made in the past, we can learn from them and begin to choose differently at every moment. I didn't say it would be easy but it is the possibility of choosing life in a new way. Sometimes before being able to choose differently we must first clean-up the choices from our past simply by forgiving that at the time that is the best we could do and now we want to do better for ourselves, our children and our loved ones. Then we, ourselves, will be able to break down our own prison walls that our choices built up around us in the first place. In the end it is worth all of the effort even though the road can be tiring.
